The AIIA National Office is pleased to kick off 2025 with an event on the role of the European Union in our region, and we're happy that our friends from the Embassy of Poland with be supplying the food and refreshments.
 
Please join us and eminent scholars from the University of Warsaw at our national conference center, 32 Thesiger Court in Deakin. Pierogi will be served at 5:30pm and the presentation will start at 6pm.
 
Registration is essential. Tickets are $25/$10 for non-members/AIIA members.
 
This event is available both in person and online. The online webinar will start at 6pm. Attendees watching from home will have to provide their own dumplings.

What is the position of the EU in the security architecture of Indo-Pacific region in the shade of the increasing US-China rivalry. The rise of China, the re-orientation of US strategy toward the Indo-Pacific, and the increasing stake of emerging powers, all point to an uncertain order in the Indo-Pacific region. Increasing complexity in great power politics makes it imperative for the EU to have the strong definition of its regional security posture. Thus, it is worth asking some fundamental questions regarding the possible role and position of the EU toward the Indo-Pacific:
  • What really is the EU's Indo-Pacific Strategy?
  • What is the EU's Role and Responsibility in helping to maintain the Rules Based Order in the Indo-Pacific Region?
  • How does Asia perceive the EU's role in the Indo-Pacific Region?
